2. Age Requirement
Snoutgram is intended for users who are 13 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.
3. Information We Collect
Account Information:
- Email address (for authentication)
- Display name and username
- Profile photo (optional)
- Preferred language
Pet Information:
- Pet name, breed, and birthday
- Pet photos and videos you upload
Content You Create:
- Posts, captions, and comments
- Direct messages (encrypted in transit)
- Lost pet alerts and locations
Usage Data:
- App interactions (Sevs, Pack connections, posts viewed)
- Device type and operating system version (via Firebase Analytics)
- FCM token for push notifications
Location Data (Optional):
- Approximate location for "Nearby Snouts" feature — only when you enable it
- We do not continuously track your location
4. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and operate the Snoutgram service
- To display your profile and content to other users
- To send push notifications (Sevs, Pack requests, Snout of the Day)
- To moderate content for safety (automated + human review)
- To improve app features and fix bugs
- To detect and prevent fraud or abuse
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services that may process your data:
- Firebase (Google LLC) — authentication, database, notifications, analytics. Google Privacy Policy
- Google Vision API — automated image content moderation (SafeSearch). Images are analyzed but not stored by Google for this purpose.

6. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only in these cases:
- With third-party services listed above, to operate the app
- When required by law or legal process
- To protect the rights, property, or safety of Snoutgram or our users
Public posts, your username, and your pets' profiles are visible to all Snoutgram users. Direct messages are only visible to the conversation participants.
7. Data Retention
We retain your data as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law.
8. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of your data
- Correction — update inaccurate information
- Deletion — delete your account and all associated data
- Portability — receive your data in a portable format
- Objection — object to certain data processing

9. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including:
- HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
- Firebase security rules restricting data access
- Automated content moderation for uploaded images
No system is 100% secure. Please use a strong, unique password for your account.
10. Cookies and Tracking
The Snoutgram mobile app does not use browser cookies. We use Firebase Analytics (which uses device identifiers) to understand how users interact with the app. You can opt out of analytics through your device's advertising settings.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via a push notification or in-app banner. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
